Kentucky Asset Success Initiative
KDVA is using tax credits to build permanent housing for domestic violence victims across the state. Construction should begin this fall on 72 units in Eastern Kentucky, Louisville and Western Kentucky. The project is a partnership between KDVA and The Housing Partnership Inc. in Louisville. KDVA will own and operate the housing with The Housing Partnership. KDVA programs will refer clients to the housing and provide case management.
The housing will be built at:
The Center for Women and Families in Louisville -- 22 units are planned. The Center is KDVA’s largest domestic violence program. It serves the KIPDA Area Development District (ADD), which includes Jefferson, Oldham, Trimble, Bullitt, Henry, Shelby and Spencer counties.
Merryman House in Paducah in McCracken County in far western Kentucky -- 12 units are planned. Merryman House also serves Murray in Calloway County where 8 units are planned. Merryman House serves the Purchase ADD, which also includes Ballard, Carlisle, Fulton, Graves, Hickman and Marshall counties.
LKLP Safe House in Hazard in Perry County in southeastern Kentucky -- 12 units are planned. LKLP also serves Owsley County where 6 units are planned and Leslie County where 6 units are planned. LKLP provides services in the River ADD and also serves Breathitt, Knott, Lee, Letcher and Wolfe counties.
DOVES is located in Morehead in Rowan County in eastern Kentucky -- 6 units are planned. DOVES serves the Gateway Area Development District which also includes Bath, Menifee, Montgomery and Morgan counties.
