Description: Find out about an important tool to ensure that all victims of serious crimes, regardless of immigration status, report violence, cooperate with law enforcement and receive the protection they deserve. U Visas were designed to help law enforcement and investigative agencies such as child protective services gain the trust of immigrant victims who often feared deportation. New U Visa regulations were issued in 2007, making U Visas a new issue for many agencies and individuals. This workshop will answer questions about who can apply, what proof is needed for a U Visa, the role of a certifying agency and other concerns about the visa process.
